The Stand (1994)

Episode Overview

A catastrophic virus escapes from a government lab, leaving most of its victims dead within days. The illness resembles the flu, but few escape its grip. Among the survivors is Stu Redmond, a gas station worker from Texas, who shows no signs of infection. He is taken to a research center in Vermont, where scientists seek to understand his immunity. Other survivors include Frannie Goldsmith, living with her father; Nick Andros, a deaf-mute; Larry Underwood, a struggling rock musician; and Lloyd Henreid, incarcerated for murder. The group starts experiencing vivid dreams of either a benevolent woman named Mother Abigail or a menacing dark figure.
