The Protectors (2009)

Episode Overview

Danish defense minister Henrik Skelbæk narrowly avoids public disgrace when his PET bodyguards escort him through a harrowing New Year visit to troops in Iraq. In a reckless attempt to contact his mistress, the unfaithful politician disregards safety protocols, leading to the tragic death of brave young bodyguard Ibro Catic. Each year, 20 top recruits from the police academy enter the competitive selection for PET's elite training. Meanwhile, Ibro's father, Drazen Catic, a traumatized Bosnian refugee, skips the funeral, raising concerns among officials as he secretly follows the minister, who is meeting with an opposition adviser.
