Episode Overview

Title: The Philadelphia Experiment, Ape-Man Army, Zapped to Death Plot: In 1956, astronomer and UFO enthusiast Morris Jessup received a shocking letter alleging that the US Navy had conducted experiments with invisibility and teleportation on the USS Eldridge during World War II. His pursuit of the truth would come at a grave cost. In the 1920s and 30s, Soviet scientist Dr. Ilya Ivanov engaged in disturbing experiments aimed at hybridizing humans and apes. His efforts to create ape-human hybrids were so extreme that he was expelled from French Guinea, but he continued his work in Russia. Did he achieve his goal? Meanwhile, inventor Thomas Edison, engaged in a fierce rivalry with George Westinghouse, launched a chilling campaign using Westinghouse's technology to electrocute animals, ultimately leading to the creation of the electric chair—a decision he would lament for the rest of his days.
